Special Interest

Trauma

I am an approved Specialist Counsellor for Victims Services NSW and work with individuals who have been emotionally and psychologically impacted by violent crimes. This includes individuals (and sometimes their family members) who have experienced acts of interpersonal violence, ranging from singular incidents of assault, to enduring or repeated abuse, including domestic abuse, historical child abuse and sexual assault.

I can also assist individuals who are experiencing trauma reactions and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of events such as accidents, medical emergencies and natural disasters.

Emotional Regulation Difficulties

I have a special interest in working with individuals who experience emotional regulation difficulties, who may have vulnerable personality traits or diagnosed personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder. I can also provide education and counselling to family and carers who are supporting someone with borderline personality disorder.

Self Injury and Suicide Risk

I provide a safe space and evidenced based treatment for individuals who engage in deliberate self-harm, self-injury and are at risk of suicide. I have a deep compassion for young people who struggle with such difficulties and who frequently face additional challenges of stigma and obtaining the most appropriate intervention for their condition.

I can also provide support to carers and family members who are trying to support an individual at risk or who have lost someone to suicide.
